St. Ephrem Teen Group
The St. Ephrem Teen Group was established in 2004. Typically, after graduating from 8th grade, our teens are spread among more than a dozen local high schools. The St. Ephrem Teen Group offers teens in the Parish the opportunity to gather together as a group and maintain an identity as a significant part of the St. Ephrem Parish Community. The mission of the St. Ephrem Teen Group is to encourage spiritual growth, promote service to the Parish and at-large-community and share their unique gifts and talents. The St. Ephrem Teen Group is open to ANY teen, grades 9 thru 12 who is a member of St. Ephrem’s Parish. Teen Group events are announced in advance in the Parish Bulletin and all teens are welcome to any event throughout the year. Some of our yearly events include: volunteer service hours at St. Francis Inn (feeding the homeless), toiletry and monetary collections and deliveries for local homeless shelters, Operation Brrr (collection of coats and blankets delivered to local shelters), “Souper” Bowl Collection (collection on Super Bowl Sunday of monetary donations for the hungry), liturgy services throughout the year (including Mass celebrating World Youth Sunday), volunteer service hours for Parish Activities (Parish Dinner, Parish Picnic, etc.) – and purely fun activities too: weekend ski trip, Halloween themed trips, trips to local sports games (Phillies Fireworks Night!) and Dorney Park also are part of our annual schedule of events. Additionally, St. Ephrem’s Teen Group is pleased to encourage and support teens to attend the World Youth Day Celebrations, held every three years.
